Hard to believe that May is almost over. We have a full summer with my 30th birthday, a weekend away, two weddings, and lots of BBQs. The school year ends on June 18th and I am looking forward to a summer off. We had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Evelyn enjoyed visiting with friends, splashing in a kiddie pool at a BBQ, and some ice cream. This weekend I am going to try to take her to a near by zoo if the weather stays nice and not too hot. Evee is definitely getting the hang of the whole walking thing. Now she will let go of the coffee table, take several steps towards her toys, and then gently sit down. It's so cute! Also Evelyn is "talking" more, she understands when I ask her to get a certain toy, and even says night night when it's time for a nap or bed. She loves to play with all her new toys and yesterday had fun with some friends. Today we are going to a BBQ and tomorrow is a relaxing day at home. Have a good Memorial Day all.

Evelyn is on her way to learning how to walk! She has gotten brave taking a few steps towards myself, my husband, and even my mom (Grammy). Sometimes when Evelyn is walking along the coffee table she forgets to hold on and totters a few steps before sitting down. I have a feeling she is going to be running before long! We have a long weekend coming up and a friend's BBQ to attend. I am looking forward to summer as well and more time with my darling daughter.

Evelyn's first birthday party was a hit! The weather was beautiful, everyone who was invited came, and we had lots of fun celebrating with all our family and friends. Evelyn was the star of the show, of course. She loved having 50 people sing "Happy Birthday" as she sat in her princess chair (which was her high chair decked out with balloons). And of course, she loved her cake. At first, Evee was not too sure about it but a friend of mine gave her a piece to eat and then she dove right in. Here are the pictures to prove it.

Now she busy playing with all her new toys, attempting to walk (she has taken two or three steps each time and then sat on her bottom), and just enjoying life. It is hard to believe that Evelyn is 1! She is an amazing baby and we just love every moment with her.

Today we hit a milestone and I missed taking a picture of the actual milestone. Evelyn was doing her usual thing, cruising around our coffee table so I snapped a quick picture. Then I played with her. Seconds after she had stolen my phone, typical. We were playing and Evee moved closer to the edge of the coffee table. Just then she dropped the phone, let go of the table, and took two tiny steps! All by herself! She plopped down quickly after but I gathered her up and hugged her. I tried in vain to get Evelyn to repeat this feat so I could capture it on film with no avail. Oh well I am proud to say I witnessed her first steps! Hopefully there will be more to come soon.

In one week we will be celebrating Evelyn's first birthday with lots of family and friends. We have been busy this week gathering food, decorations, and party supplies. Tomorrow Evelyn and I are going to order her cake and pick up a few more food items. She is such a sweet baby and growing so fast. Her yearly check-up went well though I felt heartbroken as Evelyn cried during her shots. I hate that she was in pain :( However Evee bounced back quickly and spent the evening playing with toys. Today we are hanging out and then my husband and I are headed out for some grown up time. Have a lovely weekend!

Wow last weekend flew by. Evelyn had a nice birthday day although we didn't do anything special. Her birthday party is next weekend and we are gathering up supplies. Evelyn and I did go to another little friend's party at this place called Pump It Up. It is full of inflatable bouncy houses and slides. Evee had a blast climbing up the slide and join down with me. She also enjoyed her first piece of cheese pizza. Then on Sunday we played, ran errands, and I found one of her birthday gifts. Today Evelyn has her first year check up! I can hardly believe my baby is a year. How fast the time flew.

Only two more days until my darling baby's first birthday. It's so hard to believe. Poor Evelyn has a cold yet other than a nasty cough is still full of life. We have no big plans for her actual birthday since we are having the big party in a few weeks. I still have yet to buy her a card or gift. Evelyn is busy playing and her latest favorite thing to do is "sing" with us. It's so cute.

Happy May Day! In four days my darling, beautiful girl will be one! I can not believe how fast this year has gone and how much she has grown. Evelyn has mastered crawling, pulling herself up on furniture, and scooting around the furniture. Evee also loves eating finger foods, drinking water out of her cup, and trying to get into all the cabinets. She babbles away all the time and can say Mama, Dada, Nana, kitty, ball, nose, and often woofs like a dog when she sees one. Evelyn loves to dance, clap her hands, and splash in the tub. She amazes me every day, the way she explores her world, figures out how to work the XBox remote, and loves to laugh! She truly is a blessing and we love her more and more every day.
